In the hyper-growth phase of any organization, it is important to make sure that the products which are designed can be scaled globally. B2B Billing and Payments are the two most vital areas for any organization to grow. With the emergence of local and country-specific laws, it is of paramount importance that the invoicing, payments and monetization part is done in the right way. I would like to present the learning from my experiences working at Uber and Booking.com where I built Payment Disbursements Platform and Billing Platform. These platforms were scaled to more than 60+ and 180+ countries respectively. The talk will cover how to use microservices architecture and distributed systems approach while building platforms. It will also cover how to tackle the region-specific requirements and how to launch products with strict legal regulations. Ultimately, the platforms should work in harmony with the core customer journey. It should act as an enabler to build a solid foundation for B2B transactions.
