Product Management for Government
“In the private sector, digital products are developed based on user needs, profitability, market fit and overall vision for the product. In many cases, these products are long-term investments, where the product development team continues to iterate and pivot, as necessary, based on customer demands. The same is not true for government product development. Often times, products are developed based on an immediate need, a limited vision and as a result, is not strategic and/or long lasting.
In this presentation, I will discuss key points on how to effectively develop a vision and strategy for software applications that encompass long term projects within the government based on reviewing past government trends and applying the principles of product management in the for profit world to the government. This breakdown will be displayed through a case study of the USAC Broadband Portal.”
