1. Think before you build: Before building anything, make sure you know what customer problem you are trying to solve. Machine learning products are no exception. First, understand the what and the why. Only then comes the how. 2. Fake it till you make it: Or rather – fake it till you know that it’s worth the time and money to invest in machine learning solution. Test your ideas quickly and cheaply by “faking” machine learning through fake door testing or using manually created data. 3. Machine learning + humans = <3 : It’s not only about the data scientists in your team and the training set. To make machine learning products successful, you need to collaborate very closely with humans – domain experts as well as your customers.
